WHAT SHOULD I BRING? PACKING LIST.

Includes luggage limits.

CLOTHING

  • Colors: Muted tones β€” khaki, green, beige, neutral. Avoid bright colours for game drives and visiting Reteti Elephant Sanctuary.

  • Fabrics: Long-sleeved linen or cotton shirts for sun protection. A jersey or fleece for early morning/evening game drives. A lightweight jacket is usually sufficient.

  • Shoes: Comfortable walking shoes plus sandals or flip-flops.

  • Extras: A buff, pashmina, or wrap is handy for sun, dust, or a cool breeze.

ACCESSORIES + ESSENTIALS

  • Sun hat and sunglasses

  • Sunscreen (SPF 30+ recommended)

  • Binoculars (min 10x magnification recommended)

  • Camera and extra batteries (solar charging available)

  • Torch or headlamp

  • Basic medical kit: rehydration salts, paracetamol, antihistamines, Compeed, Blistex

  • Mosquito repellent (DEET, minimum 20%)

  • Travel plug adapter β€” Kenya uses Type G (3 rectangular pins)

LUGGAGE / BAGGAGE LIMITS

Although international flights allow up to 2 x 25kg (2 x 25 lbs) pieces of luggage, the charter flights into Sarara can only carry 15kg (33 lbs) of checked luggage per person. Carry on bags are limited to 5kg (11 lbs) per person. Soft sided bags are strongly recommended.
