The Sarara Foundation runs three community programs at the conservancy: the Nomadic Education Program, the Mobile Healthcare Program, and Reteti Elephant Sanctuary. Guests are warmly invited to bring a few items in their bags to donate.
NOMADIC EDUCATION PROGRAM
If possible, please bring four of the same item so each school receives an equal share.
Paint and paintbrushes (watercolours, acrylics, fingerpaint)
Crayons, coloured pencils, coloured paper
Pencils, sharpeners, erasers, glue sticks
Twine, yarn, ribbon
Rubber stamps
Practical life materials: measuring jugs, zippers, buttons, tweezers, scoops
Montessori sandpaper letters and numbers
Small musical instruments (tambourines, maracas)
Chalk and dustless whiteboard markers
Refillable water bottles for students
New or gently used picture books suitable for ages 3–9
MOBILE HEALTHCARE PROGRAM
Pulse oximeter, infrared thermometers
High-lumen rechargeable torches (headlamp or handheld)
Hypothermia blankets
Washable maternity wraps or baby blankets
Hand sanitiser and reusable face masks
Lightweight backpacks for field nurses
Disposables: bandages, dressings, gauze, tape
RETETI ELEPHANT SANCTUARY
Unlocked iPhones or Android phones (new or gently used) — for keeper documentation
Memory cards, phone tripods, waterproof cases
Power banks and solar chargers
Thick wool blankets or fleece throws
Cotton towels
Natural baby formula (NAN, SMA Gold, or similar) — sealed packaging only
